Avengers 5 & 6 Announced At SDCC 2022

Marvel Studios dated the next Avengers movies and revealed their titles.

Ever since Avengers: Endgame released in 2019, MCU fans have been waiting with bated breath anticipating the next Avengers movie. Endgame had a sort of finality to it which, coupled with Marvel’s penchant for secrecy and for not announcing movies too far ahead of schedule, led some fans to even wonder whether another Avengers is happening. To top it all, Marvel’s own claims of Eternals being its next Avengers-level franchise further fueled rumors that we won’t be seeing another Avengers movie for a long while.

All that changed at SDCC this year. After skipping two years, Marvel Studios finally reentered the famed Hall-H and made a slew of announcements mapping out Phase 5 of the MCU. At the end of the announcements, President and Head Kevin Feige finally announced the next set of Avengers movies by dropping a short logo-reveal teaser. We now have the dates and the titles of Avengers 5 and Avengers 6.

Avengers 5 will be titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and is set to release on May 2, 2025.

Avengers 6 will be titled Avengers: Secret Wars and carries a release date of November 7, 2025.

In case you didn’t catch that, that’s two Avengers movies arriving in the same year. That’s huge stuff!

I have a lot of thoughts but the one most relevant in the context of this article is the dates. Personally, I’m highly skeptical of an Avengers movie dropping in November. My best guess at this point is that Secret Wars will end up moving next year to a May 2026 release date. An Avengers movie is too big an event to release in a time like November. It just doesn’t make business sense.
