The TV Spot game has begun. Marvel Studios has aired the first TV Spot for its upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp which is now online on their official YouTube channel. Titled Unleashed, the spot sees Scott Lang take a methodical approach towards saving the world by listing the steps involved in his plan. Needless to stay, hilarity ensues as the steps turn out to be downright silly compared to what’s at stake as Paul Rudd takes a subtle dig at blockbuster movies where a penultimate plan is part of the grand scheme of things. Most of the spot, including the music is taken from the recently released second trailer. However, for a TV Spot there’s still a fair amount of new footage included. Different shots of Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne in their respective suits alongside some alternate takes to previously seen sequences are among them. It’ll be a while before Marvel unveils some TV Spots containing new bits of dialogue. We can however expect marketing to ramp up steadily from this point onward until the movie’s release on July 6. One feeling I constantly can’t shake off is how low-stakes this movie feels after having witnessed everything that went down in Infinity War. In hindsight though, this could work out in the sequel’s favor.
