Avengers: Endgame Advance Bookings Crash Websites, Break Pre-Sales Record In 6 Hours

Avengers: Endgame advance ticket bookings commenced yesterday with the launch of the special look trailer (mandatory reminder to check our breakdown). The new footage sent fans in a frenzy and it appears the chaos is reflecting in ticket bookings. Within 6 hours of tickets going on sale, Endgame had bested Fandango’s previous record holders including the likes of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Marvel’s very own Infinity War to become the top pre-selling movie of all time.

Erik Davis, Fandango Managing Director, resonded to the hype, “We’ve never seen anything like this – it’s truly a groundbreaking accomplishment – as fans simply cannot wait to see how this epic saga comes to a close”. Of course this also made things tough for Fandango, AMC, Cineplex and countless other ticketing sites that reported crashes and outages preventing eager fans from booking their tickets. AMC even apologized on their official Twitter accounts.

The hype is so intense that some outlets are projecting a Giant-Man sized $800 million worldwide opening for Endgame. These are of course unofficial estimates at this point and some are running with it largely to garner some fan attention. We’re looking out for some reliable projections and will update you on Appocalypse as soon as they’re out.

The Russo Brothers meanwhile are floored with all the attention and thanked the fans for their enthusiasm. They’re in the midst of their month long press tour promoting the movie now; Joe Russo recently visited India and their next stop looks to be London.

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26, 2019.
