The surprises just don’t stop. Just when you thought you were done with all footage comes yet another Avengers: Endgame trailer. And I’m not entirely kidding by dubbing it thus; at 2 and a half minutes, this is indeed Avengers: Endgame Trailer No. 3. That said, it plays more like a fan trailer in that it recounts the 22 movies that have led us to this point including Endgame itself, replete with scenes from each movie meant to evoke heavy nostalgia. It’s a clever way to incorporate the fallen Avengers into the movie’s marketing (in 1080p nonetheless) while really sell the audience on the end of an era. And it ends on a small bit of new footage, including our first look at what Iron Man’s Bleeding Edge armor could look like in Endgame.
Truthfully there’s not a ton of new footage here save for a dialogue or two that may have also made its way through other TV Spots. It’s primarily serve to hit audiences with the emotional impact of the journey we’ve all been on as part of 11 years of the MCU. Marvel is making no bones of the fact that we’re headed into the end and what lies ahead will truly be something no one has a concrete inkling about (although there are projects in the works).
It’s also time for me to warn everyone to be wary of Avengers: Endgame marketing beyond this point. I’ll probably do a separate post on that but suffice to say, it’s time you use the internet with caution. If you can’t trust any site, rest assured, we at Appocalypse will refrain from bringing you any information that could spoil your excitement of the movie.
Avengers: Endgame hits theaters next week on April 26, 2019. Ticket bookings are already open in the US through Fandango and other sites and should open soon in territories such as India.
