Marvel Studios is holding a panel at CCXP 2018 for Captain Marvel. Brie Larson and Sebastian Stan made appearances (does Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes a.k.a. Winter Soldier having a role in the 90s Captain Marvel) and spoke about their experiences of playing their respective characters. We’ve just learned that a cool new scene premiered exclusively at the panel and while it wasn’t uploaded online, a brief description is now available.
The scene, running at 2 minutes and 30 seconds shows Carol Danvers trapped by the Skrulls, her hands cuffed and restricted by some sort of device. She’s mentally probed by the Skrulls leader Talos for some info but somehow manages to break free of the Skrulls, kicking some serious ass in the process that drove the crowd crazy. The restrictive device prevents her from using the full range of her powers. Danvers apparently also smiled in the scene, quoting the titular Higher, Further, Faster that was prominently featured across the posters. As for dialogues, we only got one: immediately after commencing her assault on the Skrulls, Danvers retorts, “I’m gonna do this old school”. The clip ends with her blasting a whole in the ship throwing the Skrulls out and escaping in a pod, before transitioning to a montage of sequences ending with the logo reveal.
This scene was probably the one hinted at briefly in both the trailers as well and as of now, we don’t expect it to be made available online. Audience reaction to the scene was immensely positive, causing Marvel to play it once more. Due to strict rules in place, no recordings were permitted.
Stay tuned for more updates from the ongoing CCXP 2018 in Brazil. Captain Marvel releases in theaters on March 8, 2019.
