Game of Thrones Episode 7 Season Finale Preview: All characters together

In case today’s episode wasn’t enough of a doozy, HBO released the preview to next week’s season finale a few hours back. Much like last season’s The Winds of Winter, this one promises to be something different and special if the trailer is anything to go by.

Less than a minute long, the preview is largely silent without any dialogues with a strong orchestral score playing in the background, evoking memories of the lengthy operatic opening from the previous season finale. We see the Unsullied, the Dothraki, the Iron Borne and pretty much every moving piece of the puzzle there is assemble at Kings Landing which can only mean Cersei has finally granted them an audience of some sort, one that we hope doesn’t end in some kind of man-slaughter.

Jon Snow’s remarks at the end summarize what the entire season has been building up to nicely. “There’s only one war that matters. And it is here,” remarks the King in the North. Daenerys witnessed and became convinced of how grave the threat of the Wight Walkers is in the previous episode although it had a great loss for her. Will Cersei show the same level of understanding after merely seeing a single Wight Walker presented by nothing less than her sworn enemies?

The episode comes out next week and, after the rough month that HBO has had with the hacks and leaks, one can only hope for the premier network’s sake that this week goes by smoothly and we all get to experience the finale for the first time in all its glory. For now enjoy the preview. Our episode review is currently in progress – these things take a while to pen down and after so much that happened in the previous episode, there’s a lot of speculation to unwrap – and should be out soon enough.

Update: Episode 6 review is up. Read it right here.

Game of Thrones Season 7 Finale premieres on HBO on Sun, Aug 27 at 9:00 PM PDT.
