Abomination Fights Wong And His Portals In New Shang-Chi TV Spot

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is causing tremendous excitement among MCU fans ever since it premiered to rave reactions. So much so that even the tiniest of details get picked up and blown out. In this case, it happens to be a new TV Spot featuring the famed Abomination vs. Wong cage fight. We get a new clip from that sequence that shows Wong using his portals to fend off Abomination’s attacks. As small as the bit is, it’s really cool though. Check it out.

Marvel truly is wicked with their fight choreography and nowhere does it seem like it’ll be clearer than in Shang-Chi. The use of sorcery to have the Abomination beat itself is quite clever and gives us a taste of how this fight may not be as even as we think. Plus, there’s a lot of buzz around Tim Roth’s return and we’re not even sure if he’ll be reprising the role or if this is purely VFX work but it’ll be exciting to watch.

There’s so much buzz in fact that the other, officially released TV Spot titled Run is garnering relatively less attention. But it should receive more because it features a really cool shot from the climactic battle where Shang-Chi delivers an aerial kick to Wenvu in slow-motion. The rings remind me a lot of Sonic: The Hedgehog but this move looks like a killer knockout finishing move straight out of Street Fighter, Tekken or even Shadow Fight. Insane.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings releases in theaters on September 3, 2021. And every passing moment is making me regret the reality that we’ll be unable to see it on the day of its release.
