We were in for a bit of a surprise a few days back when word got out that the second Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer will be coming with a spoiler warning. Well, it looks like that warning was well deserved for Far From Home spoils some major plot points from Avengers: Endgame, the least of which is … why spoil it in the post. Unlike the first trailer, this one does show the ramifications of a world post the events of Endgame and how our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man kid Peter Parker deals with it. Check it out below.
If you’ve watched the trailer, you know things are about to be spoiled big time. The trailer immediately sees Peter dealing with the aftermath of Tony Stark’s sacrifice at the end of Avengers: Endgame and there’s a neat plot thread set up of him becoming the next Iron Man. As if that weren’t enough, the trailer opens the world of the MCU up to the concept of the Multiverse by presenting Quentin Beck a.k.a. Mysterio as someone from an alternate reality, who entered our universe after the snap. And in case you thought I’m making all this up, nope – it’s all there in the trailer, sometimes even explicitly stated as such by Nick Fury himself.
Spider-Man: Far From Home releases in theaters on July 2, 2019, after being preponed a few days from its original July 5, 2019 release date to capitalize on the United States Independence Day Holiday. It will see Peter Parker on a field trip to Europe as he gets recruited by Nick Fury and Maria Hill to fight the threat of the Elementals. In the process, Parker teams up with Mysterious who’s on an agenda of his own. Let us know what you thought of the trailer in the comments below. It’s certainly going to be an interesting thing breaking this thing down.
