Justice League was directed by Zack Snyder, before Joss Whedon took over after Snyder stepped aside due to his daughter’s suicide. The resulting movie released on Nov 17, 2017 to mixed reviews, earning $658 million worldwide.

Sparked by a desire to see Snyder’s original vision, fans began demanding the Snyder Cut and launched a movement with the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut. Warner Bros. and HBO Max recently agreed to release Snyder’s cut of the movie and announced that it would become available on HBO Max.
