Alphonso Mack Mackenzie Is New Director In Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Marvel just confirmed that the affable Alphonso Mack Mackenzie, played in the show by Henry Simmons will be director of S.H.I.E.L.D. in Season 6 of its long-running ABC TV Show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Mack will lead the team of ragtag individuals as they attempt to rebuild the peacekeeping organization following the events of Season 5.

Simmons is ecstatic about the changed and confessed as such in a statement to Marvel:

Personally, I love the challenge of being the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Mack has worked side-by-side with the people he now leads, that works to his advantage….he’s one of them. But, the one thing that can hinder Mack’s ability to lead is his reluctance to put the people he loves in the line of danger. As a result, this may lead to Mack’s toughest decision as director…. What sacrifices will be made?

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns in Summer 2019 for Season 6 and is also confirmed to be renewed for a Season 7, making it the longest running Marvel TV show among all its comrades. That news pinches a bit, especially in light of the recent cancellations of Marvel’s Netflix shows.
