Amazon Prime’s The Boys Renewed For A Second Season

Amazon’s The Boys will have a Season 2. The studio behind the twisted superhero adaptation of Garth Ennis’ R-rated comic has renewed the show for a second season ahead of its series premiere next week. This bodes well for The Boys since it expresses Amazon’s confidence in the show and its material.

Helmed by Seth Rogen and Erik Kripke who previously adapted the equally tricky Preacher to great success, The Boys explores what happens when superheroes abuse their power instead of using it for good. The titular team comprises of ordinary, powerless people who pledge to take down the superhero team going by the Seven, a twisted take on DC’s Justice League. The superheroes are Starlight (Erin Moriarty), Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), A-Train (Jessie Usher), The Deep (Chace Crawford) and Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell) led by Homeland (Antony Starr).

The titular team comprises of Hughie (Jack Quaid), Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and The Female (Karen Fukuhara). The Boys Season 1 premieres on Amazon Prime next week, July 26.
