Ahead of the now confirmed Blu-Ray release of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel has shared a behind the scenes look that gives a sneak peak at what some of the movie’s pivotal moments looked like without visual effects. Among the many shots from the climactic battle are Captain America’s now iconic “worthy moment” as well as the funeral of a certain important character. The main focus however, is how emotional the cast felt when filming the movie, given the journey that they had all been through in the last decade, particularly the original Avengers.
Emotion was indeed the centerpiece of Marvel’s entire marketing campaign for Avengers: Endgame. More than highlighting the action set pieces, the trailers teased and excited fans with a sense of farewell, final curtains on some key heroes. For once, the campaign didn’t entirely lie about those aspects since in a lot many ways, that’s exactly what Endgame was about.
Avengers: Endgame recently had a re-release that, for a 2 month old movie in a packed summer, seems to have gone on fairly well. It was however, not enough to beat Avatar at the box-office. A few more releases up ahead should do the trick; for now, Endgame will have to settle for the No. 2 spot.
Avengers: Endgame hits Digital Downloads on July 30, with Blu-Ray slated to arrive on August 14.
