Avengers: Endgame is on its way to create YouTube history by its mere teaser. It became one of the fastest movie trailers to cross 1 Million likes in under an hour of its online debut. The teaser trailer has now achieved a new milestone, crossing 2 Million likes in less than 24 hours of it being uploaded on Marvel’s official YouTube channel. That’s not all, the trailer has exceeded the lifetime views of the second Captain Marvel trailer in less than 7 hours.
The Avengers: Endgame trailer is currently sitting at around 24 million views. Note however, that these are merely the views from Marvel’s official channel. If other social media sites are taken into account, the view count inflates even further. For instance, the teaser trailer has a whopping 22 million views on Twitter and 17 million views on Facebook. That’s separate from the YouTube views and considers only the official Marvel Studios channel, not factoring in views from Marvel’s other official pages and accounts under Marvel Entertainment, The Avengers and all the individual heroes who might have shared the video.
Of course it’s true quite a lot of these counts can be duplicate across channels. Each count on YouTube is unique however and the craze around the trailer is reflected not just in views but in social media conversations online. We recently posted a detailed breakdown of the trailer which you can read at your own leisure. There’s no doubt the Avengers: Endgame teaser trailer is about to smash viewing records which will be duly announced once 24 hours are done.
At this point, Marvel Studios has truly built a fan base and hyped them up beyond proportion. I wouldn’t be surprised if Avengers: Endgame ends up grossing north of $1 billion on the strength of this trailer alone. That still doesn’t mean we won’t get another trailer although that one’s still months away.
Avengers: Endgame releases in theaters worldwide on April 26, 2019.
