Marvel’s Heroes unite in first official Avengers: Infinity War trailer

After months of leaks, speculation and fans awaiting for it with baited breath, Marvel has released the first official trailer for Avengers: Infinity War. The trailer was promised for today by yesterday’s teaser trailer and is every bit as epic as fans anticipated it to be. Without further ado, you can watch the trailer below and then read on for our thoughts about the same.

Unlike what was speculated, the trailer is entirely different from the sizzle reel that was shown at the D23 Expo and SDCC earlier this year save for Spider-Man’s scenes though which are almost entirely the same. The central premise of the trailer though is pretty much the same with the heroes shown assembling together to battle The Mad Titan Thanos with the trailer concluding by teasing an epic battle sequence involving hoards of Wakandans and Thanos’ Black Order. Nick Fury’s voice-over and Alan Silvestri’s Avengers theme add the emotional connections all the way back to 2012’s The Avengers. Ironically, the trailer ends with a post-title stinger teasing a one-eyed Thor meeting the Guardians of the Galaxy, the very scene that began the Comic Con Sizzle Reel.

While one could say Marvel might have been forced to release the trailer to prevent further leaks courtesy a user posing as The Ascended Ancient on Reddit, the trailer itself was long due. Marvel would’ve probably released it in October itself were it not for the November release of Thor: Ragnarok. Certain aspects of that movie would’ve certainly been spoiled by this trailer which is why it made sense to hold back on its release and time it much nearer to Disney’s (Marvel’s parent company) other big release Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

What are your thoughts on this trailer? Did you find it to live up to your expectations or were you expecting more? Does the trailer leave you craving to see additional footage of Avengers: Infinity War? And did you manage to find any easter eggs? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
