Chris Evans Wraps Avengers 4 Reshoots, Bids Farewell To Captain America Role

Chris Evans confirmed in a tweet today that he has wrapped up all principal photography on Avengers 4. The actor took to Twitter to pen a poignant tweet strongly hinting that his time as Captain America has come to an end with his choice of words sparking an internet frenzy over Captain America’s death in Avengers 4. The movie itself is recently undergoing reshoots and we were privy to some set photos as well.

While Evans doesn’t explicitly lay it out (for obvious reasons), his choice of language strongly suggests this is the final time he’s donning the mantle of Captain America. Now while this could also be a play on words and hint at his transformation from Captain America to Nomad, it looks more like Evans’ time as Cap has come to an end and both he and the studio might not be renewing their contract.

This could only mean one of two things for Avengers 4. Either Cap retires and gets a swan song a.l.a. Brian O’Conner in Furious 7 or Cap succumbs to his wounds and dies fighting Thanos. That second possibility is looking a lot more likely at this point and is setting the web ablaze with speculation.

In either case, we’re hoping the Russo Brothers provide Cap with a befitting farewell, one worthy of his 8 years spent playing the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first superhero. O’ Captain, you shall be sorely missed.

I’m guessing a lot of you echo the same sentiment. Let me know in the comments below. Avengers 4 releases worldwide on May 3, 2019.
