Did Disney Accidentally Confirm Jude Law’s Character Name In Captain Marvel?

Jude Law’s character in Captain Marvel has thus been a well kept secret thus far. But it appears Disney may have accidentally confirmed his character’s name in an official capacity. Spoilers follow below this so tread with caution.

Disney’s official Captain Marvel website just listed names and descriptions of its cast members. In a listing that probably shouldn’t have gone online in the first place, Jude Law was listed as playing Mar-Vell. This supports theories doing the rounds that Law plays the Kree hero Mar-Vell who imparts Carol Danvers her powers in her fateful accident.

This however also disproves other theories claiming Law is playing the evil antagonist Yonn-Rogg. Is it possible then that Marvel is fusing the two roles somehow to first set up Mar-Vell as the hero before revealing him as the villain, leading to the betrayal hinted at in the trailer? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

To no one’s surprise, the listing has been removed from Disney’s website, but not before being captured by the ever vigilant internet. This further lays credence to Disney-Marvel’s error.

Captain Marvel will bow out in theaters on March 8, 2019.
