Marvel’s Black Widow Trailer #3 Reveals More Of The Story

Black Widow has a new trailer. The third and final trailer for the movie sees the stakes raised significantly as a lot more of the story is revealed. We also get some impressive footage of the main antagonist, the Taskmaster, and his possible motivations as well as some bonding between Natasha Romanoff and her Russian family before she became an Avenger.

The trailer is full of brand new footage and dialogue that connects the Taskmaster to the Red Room. Somehow, he’s responsible for controlling, birthing or manipulating the Red Room assassins and let them loose on Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova and Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff. Unable to fight them on their own, they summon their old allies which include David Harbour’s Russian Captain American named Red Guardian and likely Rachel Weisz’s Melina Vostokoff.

We also get a more in-depth look at the scale of the movie which is particularly impressive in a few sequences. There’s a motorcycle chase involved as well as what appears to be an explosive climax set against a snowy backdrop. For anyone who was hoping (or mistaking) Marvel to go smaller with Black Widow, they’ve done quite the opposite.

The question now remains: will Black Widow return from her death after the events of Avengers: Endgame? Currently, all signs point to the movie being set in the past and rightfully so, for a return might diminish the impact of her sacrifice to obtain the Soul Stone. But with comic book films, you just never know.

Black Widow hits theaters on May 1, 2020 (Apr 30, 2020 in India). It will be directed by Cate Shortland from a script by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson and stars Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Rachel Weisz, O-T Fagbanle and William Hurt.
