Between the release of Avengers: Endgame and the impending Battle of Winterfell episode of Game of Thrones Season 8, fandom is bracing for the most pop-culture heavy weekend in years. That fact isn’t lost on the Russo Brothers who directed Endgame and much like us, it appears they too enjoy the possibilities of a crossover. In their most recent social media post, the Russo Brothers shared a fan art that showed the Night King and Thanos preparing to face-off against each other with their respective weapons.

Of course there’s no way such a face-off would ever come to pass. That’s the beauty of fan-arts though; they serve as wish fulfilment for this sort of thing and if done well, really go a long way in whetting fan appetites even further. In this case, the art evokes an eerie showdown feel reminiscent of the most significant battles in both the upcoming episode 3 and the conclusion of Endgame, with the iconic villains donning their weapons from those events. It’s a great piece of art and now that the brothers hae shared it, it should attain more visibility.
