The Avengers Project Creative Director Updates On The Game’s Progress

The Avengers Project built up to a crazy amount of hype last week when the first footage from the game was heavily speculated to debut at The Game Awards 2018, a speculation arising due to the presence of the Russo Brothers, directors of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, at the awards show. While that turned out to be a no-show, we started wondering whether the project was even in active development anymore, seeing how long ago we’d heard about it. Well, fret no more.

Creative Director Shaun Escayg of video-game company Crystal Dynamics, the subsidiary arm of Square Enix that is hard at work on the game, took to Twitter to assuage the media storm surrounding the intensely secretive project and confirm that while development on the game is still underway, they’re holding off on sharing footage until they feel the time is right.

Back when it was announced, The Avengers Project was referred to as highly ambitious, a term Shaun continues to use in his tweet to fans. At the very least, this is a great sign that the game is still in active development and the delays in showing footage might have to do with achieving a certain internal standard before setting expectations right with the gaming crowd. More often that not, video gamers have seen highly impressive demos only for the actual game to be turn out fairly limited in scope (No Man’s Land being a prime example). I presume Crystal Dynamics doesn’t want to go that route with The Avengers Project a
