Chris Pratt indirectly confirms Avengers 4 spoiler

Avengers: Infinity War ended on a pretty somber note but it appears that ending might be undone by the time we’ve wrapped up Avengers 4. As if enough theories about this weren’t floating around already, one more tidbit has emerged seemingly hinting at this possibility.

Production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is slated to begin shortly. Chris Pratt took to Instagram to seemingly confirm not only his own return but also that of co-star Pom Klementeiff who plays Mantis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Pratt wished her a happy birthday while expressing his excitement on getting to work with her again on Vol. 3. Have a look at the Instagram post below.

It has long been speculated that the ending of Infinity War was essentially a fake-out. With so many of the high-profile superheroes perishing, including Spider-Man, Star Lord, Doctor Strange and Black Panther, and all of them having potential sequels lined-up, it seems all but a given that Marvel would work out a way to undo the damage of that movie.

There’s of course, still the possibility that whatever sequels we see after Avengers 4 are set before the events of Infinity War. While Marvel has traditionally moved ahead in its timeline, movies like Captain America: The First Avenger, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as well as the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel prove that Marvel isn’t afraid to step backwards in its timeline if need be. For now, we’ll just have to wait and speculate how all that turns out.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently in theaters. Avengers 4 comes out next year, May 3, 2019. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is rumored to be out on May 2020.
