John David Washington Was Surprised Christopher Nolan Revealed So Much In Tenet’s New Trailer

Tenet‘s trailer 3 is being watched and rewatched and downloaded and dissected extensively for any clues. Fans are confident that Nolan has preserved most the movie’s secrets for the film. But lead actor John David Washington feels the director may have given too much away and expressed surprise at the amount of stuff that was revealed in the recent trailer. He appeared on the game Fortnite where the trailer premiered to address this.

Really, it’s interesting, because there are just little nuggets of information and just breadcrumbs of information about the movie that I was surprised [Nolan] was going to reveal. And I love that he did.

That’s an interesting admission. Clearly, with Washington being among the few actors who read the script end-to-end, he knows how certain scenes in the trailer play out. He may perhaps be pleasantly surprised by the sheer audacity displayed by Chris Nolan in letting those scenes out and see audiences make incorrect guesses when the final scene could be something else entirely.

Tenet did clarify a lot of things with its recent trailer, including its time manipulation mechanic. What it didn’t clarify however is a release date. For now, Warner Bros. hasn’t moved away from its July 17 date yet but isn’t willing to commit on it either, seeing as major cinema chains are banking on it. Tenet features an ensemble cast including the likes of John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Clemence Poesy, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Dimple Kapadia with Kenneth Branagh and Michael Caine. Nolan will produce with his partner Emma Thomas with the film being distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
