Keanu Reeves Was Offered Jude Law’s Role In Captain Marvel

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has gotten pretty huge at this point. Starting off with a handful of actors, it now has a history of including the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman, Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Chadwick Boseman, Kurt Russell and many many other well known names. One name that has often showed up on fan wishlists is Keanu Reeves, who many have longed to see in the MCU. Turns out, that came close to happening.

Charles Murphy from That Hastag Show responded to a fan’s query about this very topic, stating that had it not been for John Wick 3, Keanu Reeves would’ve entered the MCU by playing Jude Law’s role in Captain Marvel. Apparently, Reeves was offered Law’s as yet officially unnamed character (presumed to be Yonn-Rogg) opposite Brie Larson in Captain Marvel. He was all set to take the role as well and it would’ve been quite the casting but scheduling conflicts with John Wick Chapter 3 – Parabellum forced him out of the picture, leading Marvel Studios to lock in Jude Law.

That doesn’t mean it’s the end of this dream though. The MCU is only going to expand giving Reeves plenty of opportunities to show up in the MCU. And if all else fails, a Skrull could always assume Reeves’ look in any of the future movies.

Captain Marvel is set for release in theaters on March 8, 2019. Let us know what you think of this in the comments below.
