Michael Pena hints at a third Ant-Man movie

One of the elements fan took an instant liking to in Marvel’s Ant-Man movie was the rapid-talking character of Luis played with absolute perfection by Michael Pena. The actor is now starring alongside Marvel’s Thor Chris Hemsworth himself in the upcoming 12 Strong and during interviews for that movie, it’s natural for the press to ask him about his next appearance as Luis in the Marvel sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp. In one of these interviews though, Pena may have just dropped hints to the existence of a third Ant-Man movie.

While speaking to IGN about whether he and Chris Hemsworth discussed the Marvel Universe on the sets of 12 Strong, the actor had this to say:

We talked about it on the first day. It’s a whole different kind of club to be in, the Marvel Universe. I don’t know if they’ll use me for the third movie, I still really don’t know. It’s cool to make a little bit of a mark on that Marvel Universe and it’s kind of a cool club, they run a really cool studio.

These remarks are interesting, largely for the mention of the third movie. The fact that they’re even discussing a third movie is a great thing; who would’ve thought one day that the tiny little Ant-Man could get his own trilogy. This move could also potentially mean seeds being planted for the third chapter in Ant-Man and the Wasp itself. More importantly, it could also confirm beyond doubt that Scott Lang should make it safe past the events of Avengers 4. And with a lot of actors having wrapped filming on the movie with some even willing to return in their roles via re-negotiated contracts, that only narrows down the list of people eligible to die in the final flick of the 22-film saga.

Pena additionally, also revealed that he hasn’t really worked with anyone else in the MCU apart from Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily. This may come as disheartening news to some people who would’ve been looking forward to seeing him interact and intermingle with the rest of the MCU, although there is the faint chance that he’s just playing coy to avoid revealing all the surprising intermingling that Marvel has in store in the next two Avengers movies.
