War Movie New Theatrical Trailer 2 Pits Hrithik Roshan Vs Tiger Shroff Amid Stunts And Breathtaking Visuals

Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s War movie just got a new trailer. The theatrical trailer, also dubbed Trailer 2, showcases some high-octane stunts accompanied with breathtaking visuals as Tiger Shroff’s character Khalid chases down Hrithik Roshan’s Kabir gone rogue. Check it out below before we proceed to dissect it a bit.

The premise is pretty much what we learned from the first trailer, with the difference of it being fleshed out this time. Apparently Kabir goes his own ways after a rift with an Indian intelligence agency and Tiger’s character is brought in to find him. The in-movie explanation given via the 2-minute trailer is that Tiger shares a history with Hrithik where the latter was the former’s mentor and guru once upon a time, before the duo went their separate ways.

As is generally the case in Bollywood, the film is told via stylistic action sequences that sometimes border on over the top, such as Hrithik aboard an airplane’s wings in the opening sequence. Overall, War takes inspiration from Mission: Impossible – Fallout (the bike chase), James Bond series of films (the snowy clad opening is reminiscent of Pierce Brosnan starrer Goldeneye) and the Fast and Furious series of films (car chase shot in Alaska) to combine what would hopefully be a seamless narrative.

Some bits stand out as a bit cringey, particularly the dialogue. The trailer works when no one talks so that’s a concern. Also, there is practically no hope for Vaani Kapoor’s character since it looks like the actress is merely brought aboard to serve as glam quotient, unless they pull off a twist towards the end.

War is directed by Siddharth Anand from a script by Shridhar Raghavan and stars Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, Vaani Kapoor, Dipannita Sharma and Ashutosh Rana. The movie hits theaters on October 2, 2019, on the Gandhi Jayanti Holiday. Be sure to stay tuned to Appocalypse for all the coverage.
