Avengers: Endgame released on Digital Download recently in the UK and is already smashing records in that segment. The final chapter in Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s Infinity Saga (well, second-to-final counting Far From Home) was downloaded a record number of 335,400 times in its first week, beating the previous record-holder Bohemian Rhapsody which had 265,000 downloads.
Marvel’s dominance has been increasingly widespread all over the globe and the UK is certainly no exception. Its predecessor, Avengers: Infinity War holds the third highest record with 253,000 downloads in the first week. Assuming a copy sells for $4.99 to $6.99, we’re looking at over $1.5 to $2 million in revenue from Digital Downloads in the first week alone. And that’s just the UK.
Avengers: Endgame released on April 27, 2019 to a resounding success. It made north of $350 million in its opening weekend in the US, grossing over $1.2 billion worldwide in the weekend alone. Within 10 days, it passed $2 billion and with help from a re-release, went on to beat Avatar and become the highest grossing movie of all time. It has made around $2.8 billion in its lifetime theatrical run.
Avengers: Endgame is available on Digital Download as well as Blu-Ray and 4K formats for purchase. It will also be available as part of Disney’s streaming service Disney+ in November this year.
