Black Widow Special Look Coming Next Month On ESPN

Black Widow is slated to get a special look exclusively on ESPN next month. A TV Spot aired advertising the said look to be dropping on Monday night’s national championship game on January 13, 2020. That’s still some ways ahead so it’s surprising that Marvel is advertising it so soon.

The months of January / February are traditionally where the MCU’s summer blockbusters get another extended look of some sort. Off late, Marvel has taken to ESPN to deliver those looks, eschewing the Super Bowl in favor of the Disney-owned sports channel. Both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame got Super Bowl spot, however Black Panther was given a special look that similarly dropped on ESPN.

As to what this special look entails, my guess at this point is a brief trailer of sorts with some new footage. There is a slim chance that they could deliver a featurette instead, keeping the Black Widow Trailer 2 for a March launch which could then conveniently be stacked ahead of previews of the James Bond flick No Time To Die. It would certainly be an apt choice given both films share genre elements. I’m hopeful an official spot advertising the special look will make its way online in full HD. Until now, here’s what we got.

Black Widow is set for release in theaters on May 1, 2020 (or Apr 30, 2020). It stars Scarlet Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle and Rachel Weisz with William Hurt and an unknown actor playing the Taskmaster.
