Captain Marvel Trailer Gets 109 Million Views In 24 Hours

Captain Marvel is on its way to breaking records already. The recently released first teaser trailer for the movie has surpassed 100 million views in less than 24 hours. Marvel made the announcement on its official Twitter channel, thanking fans for helping the Captain Marvel trailer attain 109 million views globally across all channels.

The word globally is key here. For those of you wondering at the authenticity of the numbers, if you notice Marvel’s own YouTube channel, the upload there has about 30 million views. The views here are counted across all social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, which is what brings it to the 109 million milestone.

This doesn’t soften the impact of the news in any way. It makes Captain Marvel the eleventh most viewed trailer in 24 hours of all time and only the fourth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe behind the first and second trailers of Avengers: Infinity War and the widely appreciated teaser trailer for Thor: Ragnarok. It also puts it ahead of stalwarts like Doctor Strange or even Black Panther since those amassed less than 100 million views each.

At this rate, we should only expect great things from the movie when it comes out. We did a breakdown of the trailer’s biggest moments and have also collected a gallery of stills from the trailer. Meanwhile, let us know what you feel of this milestone in the comments below.

Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8, 2019.
