Avengers: Endgame can add another record to its list. The recently released second trailer of Avengers: Endgame was viewed a record 268 million in 24 hours, making it the second most-viewed trailer in that period. Funnily enough, the record-holder is the first Avengers: Endgame trailer with 289 million views that debuted back in December. The trailer has also crossed 2 million likes in under a day, making it probably the second-fastest trailer to do so, right behind the first Endgame trailer.
The record is all the more impressive given that it’s the second trailer. First trailers generally get a lot more views since they’re generally the ones that reveal the very first footage from a movie. Fortunately, the gap hasn’t been that wide with the Avengers movie trailers. For comparison, the first Infinity War trailer released in November last year gained 230 million views, compared to the second trailer which peaked at 179 million views in 24 hours. That still made it the third-best viewed trailer in that period at the time. This also makes Avengers: Endgame Trailer 2 the best viewed second trailer of all time, taking over from Trailer 2 of Infinity War.
With this record, Disney now holds the Top 4 out of 5 spots and the Top 8 out of 10 spots (including The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast) as far as 24-hour trailer views go. The MCU itself has six out of 10 trailers in the top 10, including both trailers of Endgame and Infinity War along with the first trailers for Thor: Ragnarok and Spider-Man: Far From Home (it’s only trailer for now). Marvel Studios posted an official announcement on The Avengers twitter account to commemorate the news and thank the fans for watching the trailer that many times, “whatever it takes” (a catchphrase popularized in the recent trailer).
